Journey to Nicole
We added a few more photos from the Great Wall. Dave had some beautiful views from the top.
We toured more today. We went to the Temple of Heaven and the Summer Palace. We have done a lot of walking these past few days. Dave's legs are sore from the big climb up the Great Wall.
I would have to say that the Summer Palace was my favorite "Palace". If I was the Empress...I would stay there. It was amazing and beautiful.
Lunch was good today. You would all be surprised and proud of how adventurous Dave has been trying different foods. There were 10 people at our table and some of us would wait for Dave to try something...we knew if Dave liked it, it must be okay. He even tried the 'duck balls' that had some sort of breading shaped like squares around it and then shaped in a round ball. He liked it. There were beautiful women doing different types of Asian dances in the restaurant. One of them came over to our table and put a necklace around my neck that smelled really good. Our guide told me that it was a wish of good fortune and that the scent in it was a very treasured herb in their culture. It was a really neat place. We took some video of it but no photos inside.
Tonight we attended a Chinese Acrobat show. It was AMAZING!! The things that they do in that show just are simply incredible.
We really love the people in our group. Everyone is so nice. We have had a lot of fun. You can feel our whole group getting more and more nervous and excited as the time draws nearer to getting our daughters. It is so wonderful to share this experience in a group. Dave and I will actually get to witness a few couples become parents for the first time. Is that awesome or what?
Dave and I are very tired. Tomorrow we leave Beijing and head to Chongqing. We should arrive there in the late afternoon. It is still planned that our group (10 families) will get up Tuesday morning and take a bus to the Orphanage in Fuling to get our daughters. WOW!! This is just sooo exciting and so unbelievable that we are finally this close to getting our Nikki!!
Joe- We are so happy that you are having so much fun with Grandma and Granddad. (thanks Mom & Dad) We miss you more than you could ever know!!
As always....big hugs and loads of love to all.

Dave made it way, way up to the top of that mountain in the far back of the photo.

Amazing view!!
